SOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Since you guys asked so nicely last week about the poor dear count I figured I'd give you another taste (enjoy the pun).
So here you are!
This Weeks Tease:
“It's going to be okay,” she crooned in a soothing voice she heard Will use when calming his lover after a particularly expensive shopping spree. If it worked on an angry lawyer it had to work on a dying man right? No. He wasn't going to die. Alyssa reached into her back pocket with her other hand. “I'll get help. Call the police.”
“No,” the deep gravel of his voice rasped across her skin.
“What?”
“No. Police,” he said in a stronger tone. “Just help me up.”
“Uh. I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be standing after trying to stop a knife with your ribcage.”
“Dammit woman, just help me up. I can't let him escape,” he was growling now and call her sick but in that moment Alyssa found the commanding tone of the man bleeding out in front of her the hottest thing she had ever heard.
“You're bulky friend?” She pressed a hand to his chest when he made a move to sit. “He's gone.”
“What?”
“Took off after I shot at him.”
“At him?”
“Well yeah. I mean he was so big how could you miss right? But when I opened my eyes he was just...gone.”
Her bleeding victim muttered something unflattering under his breath about women and guns before trying once more to sit.
“Will you just stop and let me call an ambulance?”
“I don't need an ambulance,” he gritted out as she pressed just a bit too hard on his wounded chest.
“Sure.” She arched a brow at him even though she knew there was no way he could see it in the shadows. “Let me guess, it's just a flesh wound.”
“Precisely. Now let me up woman.”
Alyssa liked an alpha male as much as the next girl but all this woman crap was getting on her last nerve. Even if the guy was in pain and bleeding all over the concrete, hadn't he heard of equal rights?
“Fine. But don't say I didn't warn you.” Huffing she pulled her had off the rippling muscles of his chest and stood. She'd let him try to stand and when he went crashing back down she could only pray he would knock himself out and she could get him the help he needed.
She squinted through the darkness as he twisted and used his strong arms to push himself onto his hands and knees. His entire body shivered and she thought for sure he was going to go down. Her gaze was drawn to the hard lines of his back. The bold build of his shoulders shaking as he hung his head. The struggle to gain his feet obviously taking a monumental effort.
“Look why don't you just lie back down—”
His harsh laughter cut her off as he straightened his torso. On his knees before her Alyssa got her first true sense of how massive the man really was. In the position he was in all he had to do was turn his head and his mouth would be even with her breasts. Who were wonton things reacting in the most inappropriate way to the show of masculine strength in front of her. He was injured, possibly on the verge of blacking out from blood loss and all her body could thing about was how good it would feel to have those meaty arms holding her in place while he nuzzled her flesh until she was begging for more.
Hope you enjoyed it!
Don't forget to keep the tease going and check out the other authors on the hop! See you next week!
