Which leads me in the obvious direction of heroes. Because really, what summer story isn't complete without the temptation of a man who makes a girl's heart flutter. The selection of leading men from the lovely Entranced authors is truly mouthwatering. But what makes a successful summer hero? I've listed some of what makes a good summer (or fall/winter/spring) hero to me (in no particular order and certainly not limited to):
- He must be adventurous. Whether that means he's talking the heroine into skinny dipping by moonlight, or riding bulls in the rodeo, a great summer hero is willing to take a risk and is all the hotter because of it.
- He has to know what he wants. And go after it. A great summer hero doesn't let the heat or the obstical of his love interest's lack of interest stand in his way of getting what they both want.
- He is delightfully flawed. No good hero is without his share of scars and wounds only the heroine can heal. He could have secrets, out to just have a good time, think he's emotionally inaccessible. A part of a great summer read is watching a woman thoroughly entrance a man who vowed to be unreachable.
- He has to know how to work with what he's got. A great summer hero brings the heat, leaving you feeling the sizzle long after you put the book down. It doesn't have to be explicit (although there's nothing wrong with that) but a good summer hero (summe couple really) leaves you feeling the chemistry, even if a you ever see are a few steamy kisses.
I could go on and on with this topic, but then you would never make it to your next stop or the rafflecopter below! In the end a great summer hero is whatever draws you in and holds you until last page and the end of your fruity drink. What I really want to know is what is the ideal summer hero to you? Is he smart? Sexy? Stubborn? Does he have all the right things to say? Or is he a little lost?
You've also probably noticed that each of us have highlighted a word. Keep track of them! We've included a special sentence hidden in the blogs this week that, when all 14 words are collected, will give you a bonus entry in the rafflecopter contest! Don't worry if you've missed a few, you have until July 31 to find them all!
